Cindy Cook, principal at Sunnyside Elementary School is a longtime member of North Central Reading Council. Cindy is passionate about meeting the needs of all students and when it comes to literacy she has been a leader in Minot Public School District. She supports teachers by writing grants to promote literacy in the school, district, and in the Minot community. Under Cindy’s direction, Sunnyside was the first school in the district to create a large library of leveled books and use assessment results to differentiate reading instruction. Cindy worked with the Minot Area Community Foundation and North Central Reading Council to bring Little Free Libraries to several schools and parks in the Minot community. Cindy stays up to date on reading research and uses that research to offer teachers professional development that focuses on helping students both achieve academic success and gain a love for reading. It is evident that Cindy Cook truly Celebrates Literacy everyday with staff, students, and the entire community.

It was with great pleasure that I was finally able to meet up with Margaret Lee from the Taube Museum and present her with NCRC's donation!

Due to the facelift that downtown Minot has been getting, the museum's basement flooded, more than once! With our donation they are using it to fix a part of that basement, so that it can be once again open to our community.

Thank you for your continued support - our members are the best!
